Dr. Qian Zhong is a Managing Director at Tyco Electronics, a Fortune 500 company with nearly $15 billion sales worldwide for FY2009. Dr. Zhong provides leadership and is responsible for developing product strategy, implementing product development, and introducing to the market one of technologically most advanced product portfolio for the Subsea Communications division, which is a fully integrated subsea telecom system supplier providing connectivity of fiberoptic cables around the world.

So, this summer internship in Nanjing opens all the right doors for me to explore my Chinese heritage, and brush up on my language skills. Why Able? I have to say that, coming from a not so well-off family, I understand the importance of higher education—thus, I have always been committed to helping students achieve. I was so blessed to have been given this opportunity to work with and mentor Chinese high school students. Through helping them with their SAT and TOEFL scores, improving their English listening and speaking skills, and caring for them, I hope to make their ascent to college a successful and fulfilling experience.
